Mike Knauf has made a career of being a full-time professional musician and has played the tenor sax, flute, and clarinet in The Park Avenue Orchestra for over 30 years! He has performed with many renowned entertainers such as Billy Eckstine, Jimmy Dorsey, Tom Scott, The Temptations, Milton Berle, Bob Hope, The Las Vegas Rat Pack Show, Frank Mantooth, The Ringling Brothers Circus, to name a few.
In the Chicago area he has also performed with the John Burnett Orchestra, Bill O’ Connell Big Band, Chicago Jazz Orchestra, and the Chicago Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra. Mike has also performed in numerous musicals and international shows in Europe, the Caribbean, and a USO tour to Cuba.
Mike has also been a featured guest artist with many Chicago area school groups and a featured saxophone soloist with the world renowned, St. Charles Singers. In addition to being a member of Park Avenue, Mike is currently a freelance woodwind artist in the Chicago area and leads several small jazz groups, as well as Die Musikmeisters German Band and Nippersink Rogues Irish Band.
